Location

Woodburn, Oregon; Portland metropolitan area (offices and flexible remote locations; limited occasional travel to supply & customer sites may be required)

Reporting Relationship

This role reports to the Financial Controller.

Job Summary

You will collect data and work on complex financial studies such as rate of return, depreciation, inventory, working capital, investment, financial and expense performance comparisons, etc. The Senior Financial Analyst will research, analyze financial information and write reports that will be used by the company to make well informed financial decisions. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance, general business conditions, etc. Other duties include assisting in the development of company economic/financial policies and assist in the awareness and adaptation of new developments in the field of financial planning and control.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Analysis
    • Buy decisions – varieties, when
    • Interface with sales management for forecasts
    • Grower contacts
    • Projections reports
    • Analyzing short positions, long positions by customer
    • Standard Costing Analysis. Reviewing monthly COGS/production variances
    • Member of supply chain committee
    • Regular interface with operations and inventory management personnel
  • Financial Analysis
    • Business operations – ROI and cash flow analysis.
    • Warehouse layout/flow cost estimating, ROI
    • New equipment purchase vs labor savings
    • Rent vs buy analysis
    • Borrowing Base calculations – monthly and awareness of ongoing impact from operations
    • Cash flow projections – weekly (all companies and inter-company flows)
    • Financial P&L forecasts – at least monthly
    • Pricing analysis and guidelines for products and services
    • Cash flow analysis for R&D projects
    • Enterprise – wide annual budget responsibility
  • Monthly Closing tasks
    • Inventory Reconciliation
    • Revenue analysis
    • COGS Analysis/Variance Analysis
    • Inter-company transaction and agreement analysis
    • Ratio Analysis – monthly
    • Other tasks as needed
  • Assist with:
    • Banking relationships
    • Project management tasks
    • Interfacing with contractors and other service providers
    • Insurance reviews and renewals
    • Contracts review and compliance (legal)

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, Masters preferred
  • 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Agriculture background a plus
  • Exceptional spreadsheet modeling skills
  • Willingness to work and thrive in a team-oriented environment
