Shipping Specialist; Team Lead


Crosby Hops is a 5th generation, vertically integrated hop company based outside of Woodburn, Oregon. We market our uniquely processed hop products direct to craft brewers and distributors around the globe. LOCATION: Woodburn, Oregon

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Operations

DESCRIPTION: In this role, you will act as team lead for the picking, packing and fulfillment of customer orders. Specifically, you will be required to work in our ERP system and shipping tool to access released orders, generate labels and packing slips, and guide the shipping team to retrieve designated items, prepare for shipment and verify/double check accuracy. You will also work collaboratively with our customer support team (order entry) and accounting team (payment processing) to ensure that 80+% orders are shipped within 1 business day.


  • Generate packing slips, picks, and associated labels and documentation for all released orders (ready for shipment)
  • Create and delegate inventory transfers required to fulfill the orders
  • Guide and work collaboratively with the team to retrieve items from the coolers and package all products for shipment to customers. Verify the items in each order for accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and resolve inventory inaccuracies Sort packages into the proper area for shipping
  • Answer calls regarding shipping inquiries and help to process returns
  • Post all orders shipped and update inventory tracking system as required
  • Ship outbound packages using a variety of software tools
  • Play a leadership role in achieving designated team metrics, including 90%+ orders shipped within 1 business day and 98%+ order accuracy shipped.
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Support, Accounting, Inventory and Warehouse teams to simultaneously meet defined goals and to role model Crosby values


  • Experience and/or capability to work within computer applications (Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP, FedEx Ship Manager, Warehouse Management System, Basic/Proficient Microsoft Office skills)
  • 2+ Years Experience in a pick/pack/ship warehouse environment, preferably in a lead role
  • Associate degree, High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Spanish proficiency; bilingual/bicultural Spanish speaker highly preferred
  • Ability to simultaneously role model Crosby values and lead a team to deliver results
  • Lean Process Improvement experience in a warehouse environment preferred
  • Demonstrated team building, collaboration and employee development and advocacy skills
  • Highly organized and ability to succeed under deadlines (e.g. daily ship times). Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, quality, all centered around doing the right thing for the customer. Driven to push for customer focus and continuous improvement while maintaining safety and quality standards at the highest level
  • Ability and willingness to set measurable outcomes (metrics) and rally a team to reach them.


  • ForkLift certified
  • Ability to stand/walk, stoop, push and pull for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time
  • Exposure to sounds or noise levels (hearing protection is provided)
  • Willingness and capability to work in a cold storage environment throughout the day (28-30 degrees)
  • Bending and twisting; repetitive movements
  • 90% Computer and Office Work / 10% floor work
