Filemon Rodriguez

Meet Filemon Rodriguez – One of Crosby Hops’ Shipping & Receiving Members.

Filemon maintains a constant flow of receiving and shipping hops in multiple formats and packaging sizes. Hops come packaged by the freight load as either large bales, or pallets of whole leaf or pellets. Filemon also plays a pivotal role in maintaining prompt shipping times. When hops are being received, they need to be stored in our coolers as soon as possible to preserve the quality and shelf life; a crucial step in Crosby’s commitment to consistent quality. With hops being shipped and received simultaneously throughout the day, Filemon’s role can be challenging but he always has a positive attitude. When standing in one of our hop coolers, it can feel like a giant puzzle that requires efficiency and precision on a forklift and Filemon completes this puzzle every day.

Filemon joined Crosby Hops on September 1st, 2014. He responded to a Craigslist ad posted by Kevin Crosby just before harvest. During harvest season, employees work very long hours but Filemon was used to that. He powered through many harvests for years to come. After working on the farm side of the business, he saw an opportunity to learn a different side of Crosby Hops in Shipping & Receiving. Since he moved into this position, he has made a lasting impact on the entire Crosby Hops family. You can find him enjoying a day’s work singing songs and making everyone laugh. Filemon describes working at Crosby Hops as, “Excellent, Blake and Kevin have been great employers. I like everything about working [here]. Everything blends in together and I really like it!”
