EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

George Gulstrom

Meet George Gulstrom - Crosby's Shipping and Receiving Lead.

George’s role at Crosby oversees every box of hops that leaves our warehouse. His primary responsibility is to prep all orders for shipment and make sure every box goes out on time and correctly. There are a lot of moving parts in George’s world, but he attributes organization and always thinking a few steps ahead to keeping his department running smoothly. George’s favorite thing about working at Crosby Hops is the community of people that he works with. “People are a big thing for me. The free beer from time to time is cool too.”

George first started working at Crosby as a hop truck driver during the 2015 hop harvest. Harvest crews tend to work long hours and he remembers only having three days off during his first hop harvest season. After that initial experience he packed his bags and hit the road for a trip to Texas. Soon after he began his journey to the southwest, George received a call to be hired on as a warehouse employee full time. When George arrived for his first interview, he had no idea he was walking into a working interview and arrived in shorts and flip flops…interesting choice for interview attire! Needless to say, he came back the following day and started working officially for Crosby on October 5, 2015. George has worked his way up to shipping and receiving lead and enjoys the daily challenge of this physical and intensive role. He loves being able to push himself to find solutions for whatever may come his way.
